new york times:Sudan: Underground Lake Could Ease Darfur Crisis

Water in Sudan! To day researches at Boston University found an extra source of water in western Sudan. It appears to be a lake about the size of Massachusetts or the popular lake Erie. This new water source can be a big help on the crisis in Darfur. At night girls go fetch water from pales far out of their native Darfur village. Boys don’t fetch water because they are high at risk of being murdered, while the girls go out because they wont be killed they’ll be raped! And that’s a dreadful decision that the mothers of these children have to face. A Geologist team has made a plan to add 1,000 Wales to be dug for farmers, and herders to cease the problem of competition over scarce resources, which in this case its water.
