White powdered wigs have been worn for about three centuries now. But on January 1, 2008 things will change. Britain’s most senior judge, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, announced on Thursday that, starting Jan. 1, the wigs would no longer be worn in most trial courts; neither would gowns. This is a very controversial topic in the Britain world, in court all of there lives they have known one thing and one thing only, that you were powdered wigs and you have to were a gown. And for this to just suddenly change it’s devastating to most people. The wig has been around since the 1600, and back then they symbolized a representation on the British legal system. But lord Phillips was just simply annoyed, by the smelly and hot wigs. and he didnt think about himself but he also thought about the government and how they spend 3,000 dollars a piece!
