Not On Our Watch

Chapters 1-3

So far so good! I think the first chapter really pulled me into the book. What really got my attention were the experiences that they shared with us while they were in Africa. For example when they went to a refugee camp in Chad, the way they told us about the experience of the forty-two year old mom/wife, and how she lost her husband, mother, and five children to the janjaweed military. That made me feel so bad for her I wish I was there to help her in any way.

Chapter two to me was very similar to chapter one they get really personal about their experiences. From the jump of chapter two they get straight to their experiences, and that’s what I love about this book. How it doesn’t beat around the book with you it jumps straight in into action. And the book also tells you how they feel. For example in chapter one John and Don both say that it is out responsibility to help out in Darfur.

Just after reading the first three chapters I can really say that this book is very unique. And so far so good!
